US Stamps - Washington/Franklin

I obviously can tell which president is which and that's about it!
There are 843, seriously, I'm hardly exaggerating, different Scott numbers associated with these stamps and I have no earthly idea which is which. Well, beyond coil or sheet. The joke is some are worth .25 cents and others, $250.00+ I'm willing to be mine are all .25 but well, it would be nice to be able to figure it out eh?

Banner day at the Antique Store

Bob & I went out into the county and stopped at a small antique store. I picked out a few post cards and one turned out to be $5.00! I asked why and was told it was a hard card to find. I told the gentleman I wasn't buying them for postcards but for the stamps. He then showed me a box of stamps and I bought the whole thing for $15.
These 1948 Canada issues were in there along with tons of USA 1970's plate blocks and some covers. I'll be doing a lot of posting!

1909, Netherlands, real photo, postcard

Real photo cards are a bit unusual for this time. This card was mailed August 31st, 1909 in Amsterdam and apparently received September 3rd, in London Ontario! If you read the London date differently, let me know.
It is especially interesting that this was mailed on and noted as the Queen's birthday.

Colour shift, Canada, Environment series, 1977-78
Compare the bottom right to the top left stamp. Look at the positioning of the word "postage" in the top right and the number "1" top left of the stamps. You can watch them work their way up the stamp until they are outside the margins. You can also see how the word "Canada" along the bottom moves up.

Some odd stamps
Canada, Environment series, "broken wire"
Centennial issue, Canada tagging error, position W2AC, meaning instead of two phosphour bars on each side, there is one thick one in the middle of each stamp.
1968 Prominent Americans series, coil strip, transfer on reverse

1970's Canada, Landscape series, 25 cent, 2 pre-printing creases

Some old postcards with auxiliary markings

US Army Postal Service, soldier's free mail. Passed by Army Examiner.

Now this postmaster was confused! Got 10 more cents in postage, needed 14 (in pen), asked for 2 (in red stamp) and for 3 (or is it a 5?) (small circle stamp.)
