Again, how lucky am I? In September we had vistors from China and they brought this as a gift for me! It had just been released. I was slow in scanning. I only scanned the pages with stamps, not the facing pages.
Since so many of you, from all over the world, are searching Beijing Olympic Stamps, I decided not to be lazy and to scan this album also. It's 12 pages in size. I've not scanned the postcards in the book that follow the stamps posted nor have I scanned the pages that hold the stamps. Again, I'm lucky to have such well travelled friends! I hope you enjoy these pages and if you do, please leave a comment. Thanks!
I bought an old stamp album today, 1917, and this was in it. Not a terribly common stamp. I might have to have someone look at it. To get technical, I think it may be a Schermack Type III perf, I'm certainly no expert and could easily be wrong. If you know something or someone I should talk to, drop me a comment. Thanks!
Sure I can count perfs but rotary? flat plate? I have no idea! Hey there could be a rarity here for all I know. If you spot one, let me know ok? Thanks!
I did not realize I had this booklet with label from the Netherlands. Granted it is used and one stamp is creased but still, nice to find something you didn't even know you had. Perhaps I need some help in going through all these teeny tiny pieces of paper?
Tonight I decided to take a second look at some of my stamps and found these. One British, one Denmark. What is strange is the markings on the back of the stamps. The Great Britain stamp looks almost "pre canceled" on the reverse. The Denmark stamp? I have no idea what the "3" stamp is. Any ideas on these? Please leave a comment and they get emailed to me. Thanks!
**I think I've identified the marks on the Great Britain stamp. "Training Stamps" were marked with black lines to ensure they don't get used for postage after being used to train new postal employees. It appears this one, and the sheet it would have come from, were incorrectly marked on the back.
Another lovely gift from my travelling friends. I had asked for "a" stamp of this series and look what I got! A beautiful presentation commemorative folder... spoiled, spoiled... :)
I'm lucky in that I have well travelled friends. This is the cover and the stamps of one of the special edition albums I have for the upcoming, very controversial, Beijing Olympics. Each sheet is on a page of the book along with the background/description with illustrations.
Friends just brought me these from Mexico. The woman at the post office gave them a Mexpost, priority mailing envelope, the light cardboard kind, to give me as a gift from her! It celebrates Mexican Culture/History in stamps. It's a bit too big for my scanner.
I have no idea from where this originates? I've owned it since I was a little girl. It says 1949. I've tried looking at a world map to recognize the island, to no avail.
I obviously can tell which president is which and that's about it! There are 843, seriously, I'm hardly exaggerating, different Scott numbers associated with these stamps and I have no earthly idea which is which. Well, beyond coil or sheet. The joke is some are worth .25 cents and others, $250.00+ I'm willing to be mine are all .25 but well, it would be nice to be able to figure it out eh?
